Another source to becoming a safer gym
At Gymnastics Elite we believe in safety first. This is why our coaches and staff are CPR and First aid certified. This practice is an extremely useful skill that can end up saving someone’s life. It is a valuable preparation process in which our coaches and staff participate. Our coaches and staff learn how to prevent major injuries or prevent fatality by using the skills they learned.
The class itself was taught by a qualified instructor who contributed the training with a video and mannequins. The video offered step by step, easy to follow instructions. Every Elite employee handled their training on mannequins that were provided. Coaches and staff operated on mannequins with a single use plastic mouth shield. Elite employees experienced what it would be like to support an infant or developed person. Our Elite team was enlightened with interesting facts about toddlers shaken baby syndrome. Coaches were thought how to prevent this syndrome from happening while giving CPR. Shaken baby syndrome is a type of inflicted traumatic brain injury that happens when a baby is violently shaken. A baby has weak neck muscles and a large, heavy head. Shaking makes the fragile brain bounce back and forth inside the skull and causes bruising, swelling, and bleeding, which can lead to permanent, severe brain damage or death.
At the end of the class our Elite team was tested to make sure they could perform CPR appropriately and instantly. The instructor made sure that everyone used the proper form and procedure. The class lasted about 2 hours.
